Our History

Tanzania Child Welfare (TCW) is legally registered Women led Organization by the Government of Tanzania under NGO ACT, 2002 with registration number ooNGO/R/0981 to Operate in Tanzania Mainland.

We are non-Political, non-religious and nonprofit Organization with its headquarters in Dar-Es-salaam Tanzania guided by unwavering commitment to the well-being and holistic development of Children, Girls, Women, Youth and People with Disabilities and the entire Community. Operates under the overarching principles of promoting Social justice, equality, and the inherent dignity of every individual. By recognizing the profound impact of Health, Education, Gender equality and Equity, Human and Peoples Rights, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Disability, Child protection, Social and Economic Empowerment for Children, Girls, Women, Youth, People with Disabilities and Community at large and Environmental sustainability on the lives of our beneficiaries, we pledge to work tirelessly towards creating a society where every Child, Girl, Women, Youth, People with special Needs and entire Community can thrive and realize their full potential.

We acknowledge the interconnectedness of these thematic areas and the need for comprehensive and integrated approaches to address the multifaceted challenges faced by our target demographic. We are steadfast in our belief that by championing the Rights and Well-being of Children, Girls, Women, Youth and People with Special Needs and Community we contribute to the building of a Just, Inclusive, and sustainable Society under effective Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanisms Plan to assess the effectiveness of our programs and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.

• To ensure the holistic well-being, safety, and development of children by strengthening their Social Welfare Systems, implementing integrated and sustainable child protection measures across Gender, Environment, Education, Health, Disability, and Socio-economic contexts by preventing and addressing Trafficking in persons, Child labor, Child Abuse, Child Neglect, and promoting Economic empowerment, fostering an Environment that upholds the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of children, thereby creating a foundation for their Healthy and empowered future in the reflection on the interconnected nature of various factors affecting Child protection Systems.

• Promote Sustainable Development and resilience through holistic approach that integrates Environmental and Water Sources and Management Practices, Promoting Carbon Credit, planet's ecosystems, biodiversity Conservation of Natural Resources by responding to Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation and WASH Programs, Micro and Macro Forest and Tree Planting. We Consider Gender through foster a balanced and inclusive strategy that not only safeguards our Ecosystems and Mitigates the impacts of Climate change but also recognizes and addresses Gender disparities. We aim to build resilient communities, enhance Environmental Sustainability, creating a future that is Environmentally Sustainable, Climate-resilient, and Socially just.

• Promoting Gender by achieve Gender equality and create a Society where individuals of all Genders have equal Rights, Opportunities, and access to resources. We work towards eradicating discrimination based on Gender in all spheres of life, including Education, Employment, Healthcare, and Legal Rights. Empower by promoting Women's education, Economic independence, and leadership roles, eliminating Gender-Based Violence, including Domestic Violence, Sexual harassment, and Human Trafficking. Create a safe Environment for all individuals, regardless of Gender. Advocate for the reproductive Rights of all individuals, including access to family planning, Healthcare, Safe and Smart Menstrual Health and Hygiene. Advocate for and implement Policies that promote Inclusivity and Diversity. Promote Education and Awareness about Gender equality and its importance by providing information on the impact of Gender inequality and the benefits of a more inclusive and equitable society.

• We Advocate for Human and People's Rights including Land Rights, Environmental Rights, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Minority Rights, Civic Rights and Gender Rights inherent dignity and equal Rights of all individuals, irrespective of their Age, Gender, Abilities, or other characteristics. Ensure the Right to Survival, Development, and Protection.

• We Combat Violence and harmful practices against Children and Girls, such as Child Marriage and Female Genital Mutilation. Promote girls' access to Education, Healthcare, and Economic Opportunities Ensuring their Right to Reproductive Health and decision-making.

• We Recognize and promote the Rights of Women and Young people to participate in Civic and Political processes.

• We Ensure equal opportunities and access to Education, Employment, Healthcare, Social Inclusion and Safeguard the Rights of people with special needs to participate fully in Society aim to create a Society that values and respects the Rights of every individual, regardless of their Age, Gender, or Abilities.
